The second year of Spectrum’s innovative three-year initiative,“Beyond Dance: Promoting Awareness and Mutual Understanding” (PAMU), will explore critical human rights and social justice issues involving the United States and China. Through text, music, and highly personal movement, FAREWELL: A Fantastical Contemplation on America’s Relationship with China will be a feverish and dreamlike theatrical meditation.

FAREWELL will explore the commonality of the impact of the events of 9/11 and Tiananmen Square on the collective psyches of the United States and China, respectively. This powerful, vanguard piece will further examine how financial ties may change the nature of diplomacy between these two leading world powers.
