Jim Gaffigan

STG Presents Jim Gaffigan at The Paramount Theatre in Seattle on Friday and Saturday, October 8 - 9, 2010. Jim Gaffigan is a true comedic triple threat, having achieved major milestones in stand-up, acting, and writing. Beloved by a wide range of audiences, Gaffigan continues to prove himself a major talent who is responsible for some of the funniest and most memorable moments in recent television and film. His clever and quiet style has earned him a spot in the top five most successful touring comedians in the country today. His 2006 Comedy Central Special “Beyond the Pale” was certified Platinum, selling over 150,000 DVDs and over 170,000 CDs.

After “My Boys” and a guest role on “Law & Order: SVU,” Gaffigan has now begun production on two films; both due out in 2010. In GOING THE DISTANCE, a comedy about the trials and tribulations of a long distance relationship, Gaffigan will star with Drew Barrymore, Ron Livingston, and Christina Applegate. Next, he will take on Focus Features’ comedy-drama, IT’S KIND OF A FUNNY STORY. Based on the original novel by Ned Vizzini, the film is centered on the demands of being a teenager and shows what can be learned about love, life, and the pressures of growing up. Gaffigan has also just been cast in the comedic-thriller, SALVATION BOULEVARD, which he will star in with Ed Harris and Pierce Brosnan. Produced by Mandalay Vision, the film is due out in 2012. Last summer Gaffigan was also seen in the Sam Mendes’ film, AWAY WE GO with John Krasinski and Maggie Gyllenhaal, and in 17 AGAIN with Zac Efron.

In 2008, Gaffigan finished his most recent Comedy Central Live Tour, “Jim Gaffigan: The Sexy Tour,” during which he performed at 50 sold out shows across 25 cities. The tour culminated at the Paramount Theatre in Austin, TX where he filmed another Comedy Central special, “King Baby.” The special debuted March 29th; the CD and DVD are currently available and maintained top selling spots on several of the retail lists including iTunes and Amazon.

Gaffigan’s talent has earned him an unprecedented number of appearances on both CBS’ “Late Show with David Letterman” and NBC’s “Late Night with Conan O’Brien.” Scripted television guest appearances include an upcoming guest starring role on HBO’s cult hit “Flight of the Concords,” and previous roles on “That 70’s Show,” “Ed,” “Sex and the City,” “The Ellen Show,” “Third Watch” and all three of the “Law & Order” show variations. Gaffigan has also been seen in such films as THE LOVE GURU, 13 GOING ON 30, SUPER TROOPERS, 17, THREE KINGS, the independent film THE LIVING WAKE, and THE GREAT NEW WONDERFUL, a meditation on the aftermath of 9/11.

Gaffigan is the creative force, co-writer, and the voice of all the characters in “Pale Force,” the superhero crime-fighting duo he created with Conan O’Brien for NBC.com. The weekly animated series ran on the internet with Gaffigan premiering episodes once a month on “Late Night with Conan O’Brien.”  The 40-episode series was nominated for a Broadband Emmy and a Webby Award.

Many often recognize Gaffigan from his numerous award-winning commercial campaigns, which include EBAY, Sierra Mist, ESPN, Saturn, and Rolling Rock. His commercial presence earned him BusinessWeek’s 1999 “Salesman of the Year” honor.

Gaffigan currently splits his time between New York and Los Angeles.
